Zoning Commission meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m.

The Coventry Township Zoning Commission (ZC) will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Coventry Township Community Center, 335 East Willowview Drive, Akron, OH 44319, to consider the following zoning text amendment application:

2026-01-ZC.  Coventry Township Zoning Commission, 68 Portage Lakes Drive, Coventry Township, OH 44319

The Township Zoning Commission will consider the following zoning text amendment: add text to the Coventry Township Zoning Resolution to include a new Section 19.02.L. Outdoor Advertising Signs (billboards). 

The Zoning Inspector forwarded the proposed zoning text amendment to the Summit County Planning Commission (SCPC) on January 21, 2026, for consideration at their February 26, 2026, meeting per Ohio Revised Code Section 519.12(E)(1)(a).  The SCPC recommended approval of the proposed text amendment.

The following text proposals will be discussed after the public hearing.

• Articles 6, 7, 8, and 9 proposed residential area regulation changes.

• Article 14.  This article is missing a permitted use section. 

• Section 28 Short Term Rental (STR) parking clarification required distance between STRs, and requiring a fire inspection for new and renewed STRs.

• Clarification of Article 30 Self Storage Facilities Regulations.
