The Coventry Township Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 6:00 PM at Coventry Township Community Center, 335 East Willowview Drive, Akron, OH 44319, to consider the following zoning text amendment application:
2026-01-ZC. Coventry Township Zoning Commission, 68 Portage Lakes Drive, Coventry Towhship, OH 44319
The Township Board of Trustees will consider the following zoning text amendment: add text to the Coventry Township Zoning Resolution to include new definitions for billboards and Outdoor Advertising Signs and a new Section 19.02.L. Outdoor Advertising Signs (billboards).
The Zoning Inspector forwarded the proposed zoning text amendment to the Summit County Planning Commission (SCPC) on January 21, 2026 for consideration at their February 26, 2026 meeting per Ohio Revised Code Section 519.12(E)(1)(a). The SCPC recommended approval of the proposed text amendment. The Zoning Commission recommended approval at their March 10, 2026 public hearing.
The full text of this request is available for public viewing in the Coventry Township Zoning Office from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, at 68 Portage Lakes Drive, Akron, OH 44319.
